Cancellation of the Imaging Review Course

Posted 7 months ago by Petra Clark

As you may have seen in the news, the Governor of Massachusetts announced he was issuing a State of Emergency, here in Massachusetts, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 novel corona-virus. The mandate precludes organizing or attending public gatherings to avoid potential transmission of the virus and extends to limiting the travel for such events.
Additionally, Beth Israel Lahey Health, (our hosting site at Burlington Campus)  has also issued a statement to its employees that in-person meetings, educational events are being cancelled and employees are asked not to attend in person society or association meetings until further notice. In compliance with local public health recommendations many of our universities and schools are taking the same measures in favor of virtual programs.
After reviewing the new mandates, the NEC-ARIN Board, has made the responsible decision to comply with the recommendations and cancel the IRC scheduled for May. Our hope is that this action will help to keep everyone safe and that sometime in the future we can revisit hosting an IRC.
The NEC-BOD is particularly concerned that registration fee is returned to those who have already registered for the IRC. Sarah McIntosh, ARIN executive director, is working on refunding the registration fees to those who have already registered. We regret any inconvenience this causes and will continue to monitor the current events for possibility of a future IRC or virtual education.
As always, we are grateful for your support and membership and look forward to seeing you at a future event once we receive clearance. We extend wishes for good health to all.
